ten

tag
you're it
gotcha!
run fast, freeze

tag

character
in position
countdown

players set in
motion, tiny feet
little hands tip
tap

search, find, freeze

 wanting to be anything
but it

a silent storm

in my sleep
i am awakened by the snow's quiet fall
its landing, a welcome
excitement

tomorrow's snowman waits
for me,
anticipating his
carrot nose

an excited 4-year-old
has planned out the raisin belly
button our Frosty
is destined to wear

the dampened sky
is a whitish gray fog,
determined to keep us in-

in my sleep
the snow's invisible sound
starts something
adventurous

and I come alive,
a 4-year old
drawing plans for an igloo

a modern haiku

free people lassoed
by a cell phone's charming cord
walk blindly through the forest

would you be okay with that?

if i disappeared
and then returned
to find myself
wrapped in saran wrap
singing in Mr. Ferly's voice
Happy birthday
in my birthday suit
just for you

would that be too crazy?

Could you imagine if...

i ran to the end of California
in a toga type tunic
with a single rose
tied to my hair
collecting followers
of a new religion
called Followmetology

if I jumped into your arms
without warning
after a bubble gum
flavored bubble bath
and giggled your name
repeatedly until
i could not breathe

sea

in the midst
of the distance
between the foam of the sky
and the froth of the wave
an air drop floats
mid-air
decides
to fly

another poem about time

as time passed
so did he
the writer of tales
so rich that burgundy
velvet couldn't keep up

a beauty of words
that were ballet,
delicately designing
a page
on their
tippy-toes

our master Time
a healer of all
and the grim-
reaper too

time study

a still young mind
longs to jump through hoops
and skip through a meadow
adorned by bows and loops
in a skirt that flows
with no sadness or woes
of how the time goes

the ephemeral bliss
effervescence -
the sparkle
the opaque tights
and dress with frills
her mind filled
with princes
and first kisses
and things
she must confess
to her best friend
about the plans
that, she,at 9
made for the
rest of her life

at 39 she barely
remembers 9
or what happened
to all the time

mind filled with
dishes
and wishes
of a magic wand
to make it all
sparkle
new tights
to wear to work
a way to
turn time's
pace down

an evening out
in a gown

a night of sleep

more secrets
her best friend
will keep
