walk of shame

first, he called my name
and so I ran, I came to the door
with a grin so big that it
raced from one side of the room
to the next

my grin, a racetrack
and I kept circling around him
and got dizzy
so I fell

I woke up, my lipstick
on his cheek
wondering many things,
like

where am I?

where is home?

everyone saw me,
I know they did
as I did the walk
of shame in
the November mist

the last of the
auburn leaves
scrunching into confetti
under my feet
as everyone
heard me walk
the three blocks back
to my brick apartment
