the wind's call

i breathe your name out
in time with the wind's whisper
so you will catch me

in time

are we in time for
this moment that we have built
with precious seconds

Poem for the Paradox Poet

Oscar Wilde wrote, "I can resist anything but temptation."

i am tempted to restrain myself
and tempted to dive in
to this luscious life

i swim on dry land, and do not expect
to be bitten, but I need the bite to remind me
I am alive, I am mortal

except sometimes I am invincible

like on those days that I wake up
and the coffee has already been made
perfectly

the traffic is clear, I arrive early
the computers do not work
and so work is closed and
we're all like, "snow day!"

on those days I forget destiny,
and become life

i am cake

i woke up
this morning
with a glow

because I see beauty
in the star-shaped cracks
in the sidewalk

sunglasses that float
through the clouds

the damaged beauty
of the girl that has recovered
finally
from adolescence

has renounced adulthood
in favor of the child inside
that knows that each second
is something to savor,
a quiet bite of warm cake
that becomes more delicious
when broken into tiny
bites that melt into each other

Affirmative haiku

We are the beauty
That we allow before us
The magic of now

earth's prayer

i revolve around
my heart
like a sun

i keep you warm
let you shine

help you grow
along... and up

and we both dance
atop a cumulus cloud
wondering at
what is
             down
                                up
grateful for what is

i worship, her
the sun, and she
carries my
torch - the bursting
flame that makes
each day an
eternal moment

a purpose

i am a vessel
to diffuse light particles
and lighten the world
