January's reminders

forge forward
and through and up
don't look down

steep, and slickened
by the sleet
keep your head back-
first go with your feet!
it is only scary
if you study
for too long-
or if you
suppose
nothing at all


the air's shiver gathers
warmth indoors, movie time snuggles
hot cocoa with tiny marshmallows
a soft Snicker doodle cookie
after  a sled ride
